Step into the world of Make Design 3D, where our passion for design and engineering come together to form a unique blend of creativity and precision.
We are a local start up, in The Forge, Hobsonville, Auckland.
From the initial sketches to the final product, each creation reflects the collaborative spirit that defines our journey. At Make Design 3D, we take pride in crafting locally, ensuring that every piece emanates the perfect fusion of artistry and engineering excellence.
Join us in exploring the heart and soul woven into each creation—a testament to the magic that unfolds when design dreams meet engineering expertise.
Welcome to the story of Make Design 3D, where imagination becomes reality.
Our Router
Introducing our versatile router, a cutting-edge marvel designed to seamlessly cut and engrave a myriad of materials, including:
plastic,
acrylic
wood (MDF, ply, pine, etc.),
aluminum
brass
copper
With precision and finesse, this powerhouse of a machine opens up a world of possibilities for crafting intricate designs and functional pieces.
We can cut sizes up to an impressive 1220mmx2440mm, ensuring our visions come to life on a grand scale.

Our 3D Printers
Introducing our 3D printers which create projects from a range of plastics, find out more about them here:
PLA+ Plastic
PLA+ is modified based on PLA plastic, which improves the toughness and layer adherence of the material. PLA+ is an environmentally-friendly material, which is easy to print and has a smooth surface. It provides products with more rigidity, toughness balance, and strong impact resistance. PLA+ has been approved by the FDA, and is safer to use than PLA. It can be used for conceptual modelling, rapid prototyping, and aesthetic house hold items.
Technical Specs:
Heat Distortion: 53c
Tensile Strength: 63Mpa
Elongation at break: 20%
Flexural Strength: 74 Mpa
Flexural Modulus: 1934Mpa
PETG Plastic
PETG Plastic has very similar characteristics to PLA+ with the added benefit of higher heat tolerance and more chemical resistance. PETG is commonly called a “Functional Plastic” meaning it is more suited to products that may need to move and gives these parts a higher durability.
Technical Specifications:
Heat Distortion: 64c
Tensile Strength: 52.2 Mpa
Elongation at Break: 83%
Flexural Strength: 58.1 Mpa
Flexural Modulus: 1073 Mpa
ABS Plastic
Is a material with low cost and good mechanical properties; ABS has good toughness and impact resistance, which can print strong and durable parts. It has high thermal deformation temperature and can be used in some outdoor and high temperature applications.
ASA Plastic
Has very similar characteristics to ABS but with added UV resistance, ASA is best suited for outside use.
Technical Specifications:
Heat Distortion: 78c
Tensile Strength: 43Mpa
Elocution at Break: 22%
Flexural Strength: 66Mpa
Flexural Modulus: 1177Mpa
